Man, I’m stunned. Admittedly, I’ve ignored just about all of his output since Bad, and the man has taken some bizarre turns in his life these past two decades, to the point where he became kind of a living punchline. But he set the world on fire back in his heyday, and the work he did with Quincy Jones on Thriller, and particularly, Off the Wall was incredible. I’ll remember Mike Jackson as that cool, moonwalking, single-glove-wearing dude I danced to when I was six. Thanks for the great music. Rest In Peace.
